Project Overview
Last month, we wrapped up a vibrant playground flooring project in Castro, Paraná, Brazil. This wasn't just a standard supply job; the local contractor needed a surface that could handle the high foot traffic of a community park while keeping its "pop" under the intense South American sun. We delivered a complete Wet Pour EPDM system, including our high-purity EPDM granules and weather-resistant PU binder.
The client's vision featured a complex, interlocking geometric pattern. In the flooring world, we know that the more colors you have, the trickier the transitions become.We used a mix of Bright Pink, Royal Blue, Golden Yellow, and Emerald Green.Every seam had to be seamless to prevent tripping hazards and ensure the long-term integrity of the playground surfacing.
If you look at the close-up photos, you’ll see a classic hopscotch integrated directly into the pink EPDM area. A common mistake in these projects is painting the numbers on later. Instead, we provided pre-cut yellow EPDM inserts for the numbers. Our partners in Brazil embedded these during the wet-pour process. A permanent, flush game area that will last as long as the floor itself.
